Ajimobi Visits Oyo To Commiserate With Alaafin Over Akesan Market Inferno |OGBOMOSO INFO|

Immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi on Monday night visited the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III to commiserate with him over the inferno that razed the Akesan market on Sunday night. The former governor who expressed sadness at the occurence described it as unfortunate, saying his visit should be likened to that of a son to the father over the loss. He promised to also contribute to the rebuilding of the market as a private individual who feels the pain of the loss of the victims. Senator Ajimobi also expressed appreciation to the first class monarch for his fatherly contribution to his 70th birthday on December 16, 2019. Operation Amotekun: Yoruba Youths Warn Criminals In South West |OGBOMOSO INFO|

A group, Yoruba Youth Socio-Cultural Association (YYSA) Worldwide, yesterday said the commencement of Operation Amotekun would bring an end to the operations of criminal elements in South-West region. In a statement by its National President, Hammed Olalekan, and made available to The Guardian in Ibadan, the group said: “Days of criminal herdsmen are numbered in South-West region. “The oncoming South-West joint security outfit, known as Amotekun, would definitely put an end to various criminalities being perpetrated by herders starting from killing, maiming, kidnapping, robbery, rape and open grazing, which had been banned in some South-West states but still being practised archaically by uncouth herdsmen who refused to change for better. “In fact, some other evil acts, such as mounting roadblocks by suspected Fulani, which had been occurring and still being experienced on Friday at Ise-Ekiti where at least three of them were arrested, would soon become a thing of the past.

Resumption: Oyo Govt Orders Public Schools To Commence Academic Activities Immediately |OGBOMOSO INFO|

Oyo State Government has urged Heads of Public schools across the State to commence academic activities immediately, saying idleness of teachers or pupils would not be tolerated henceforth. The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran made the declaration while monitoring resumption of schools in the State capital, Ibadan. Adeniran, who monitored the resumption alongside other members of the board expressed satisfaction with the situation they met at some schools visited. The Chairman however called on other schools, who are yet to commence academic activities, to do so with the pupils immediately. “We are going around to ensure quality in our education sector and ensure that infrastructural facilities are provided.
